Job Requirements
Four year degree or equivalent business experience and at least 3-5 years of
underwriting and/or general insurance agency experience are required. IrA programs
(particularly General Insurance, AU and AAI coursework) or CPCU, and RPLU or
similar professional liability coursework is preferred. Prior supervisor experience
and/or company-sponsored supervisory training are required prior to assuming the
responsibilities of this position. PC aptitude is a plus. Excellent interpersonal, time
management and organizational skills are required. This is an exempt position. By

DUTIES: Analyzes full range of standard personal lines & commercial lines

insurance company product submissions (e.g., auto; fire; homeowners;

liability) of assigned division (i.e., property & casualty division) &

determines appropriate action, analyzes full range of complex personal

lines & commercial lines insurance product submissions (e.g., medical

professional liability, commercial umbrella & excess) of assigned division

during absences &/or heavy workloads; performs variety of tasks related to

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of undergraduate core program in

insurance, business or mathematics; 6 years experience in insurance field

Operations Manager-Large Brokerage- 2 positions, one in P&C and the other in Employee Benefits

 

 

Our client needs an experienced Agency/Brokerage operations manager. Candidates can live in any of 4 states Ohio,Indiana, Pa, or Michigan so relocation may not be needed for candidates living in those areas.

Purpose: Manage account managers and support staff for several production offices that support both personal and commercial lines. Responsible for establishing and maintaining high levels of customer service for clients, sets service standards, educates and reduces Errors & Omissions exposure in the product line.

Essential Functions:

1. Client Service
• Develops, trains, measures and improves client focused activities including service and client focused initiatives
• Stays on top of industry for service excellence opportunities
• Sets service expectations for product lines and ensures delivery
• Sagitta or other account management software experience and resource for product line
• Creates, continuously evaluates and enhances workflows, protocols, manuals and tools
• Constantly looks for improved efficiencies and implements
• Monitors industry Best Practices, evaluates and implements where needed
• Works with IT for system improvements
• Audits system routinely to ensure accuracy and quality of information
• Champions the need for consistency and conformity for all associates
• Assures communications and electronic documentation minimize the potential for Errors & Omissions

2. Product Expertise
• Utilizes carriers to assist in necessary training of the service staff
• Develops product line requirements for exceptional service and coverage expectations for colleagues
• Provides service standards and minimum coverages with product line specialist
• Acts as a technical resource on difficult coverage issues
• Sets standards to reduce risk exposure throughout the agency
• Introduces new produces, services and opportunities and ensures staff awareness throughout the agency


3. Management
• Establishes benchmarks setting productivity expectations and measures appropriately
• Develops and trains supervisors
• Evaluates appropriate software tools for usage throughout the agency to increase efficiencies
• Creates and manages a line of business service tool box including form letters, scripts, proposals, checklists, etc.
• Identifies and promotes “up sale” opportunities

4. Training
• Promotes consistent training practices across all regions
• Develops product line requirements for service staff
• Implements training as a result of audit findings

Undertakes special projects as needed by EVP’s and C.O.O.

Experience, skills, and abilities preferred:

• Minimum of five years supervisor/mgmt experience
• Minimum of five years insurance and/or underwriting experience
• Excellent communication skills; written and oral
• Advanced critical thinking and problems solving skill sets
• Excellent knowledge in Excel, Word, and Access
